Why I'm SO Over Senior Year

Hey cupcakes! As some of you may know, I am a senior in college this year... And I am ALREADY so sick of this year (and it is only November). I just want to be done with my undergrad; graduation in May could not come faster.

First, I recently got accepted into my master of accounting program! It is at the same school I am currently at, which means I will get to experience another year here. I am starting to get sick of the same all-girls dorm I have lived in all four years.... I still love this building and the people in it (don't get me wrong), but I will be living in a 2 bedroom apartment off-campus next year with my best friend.... So I am so excited for next year!

I also have a full-time job lined up with PwC that I will start after this program - September 2020 I will be entering the work force for my first real position! :D The fact that I already have this is making my motivation to study as hard as usual extremely difficult... I'm just ready to become an adult!

I am also getting really sick of living in the same room as someone. Sure my roommate could be worse, but she also could be better. Haha - I basically wrote My Tips & Tricks for Dealing with a Less-than-Ideal Roommate about her, so I am just ready to live by myself. As you all know, I lived in a studio apartment last summer while I did my internship, and because I will also be doing that same thing this summer I am just ready to have my own space.

I'm also honestly over the whole "college" experience - the parties, drunk people, hook-up culture, etc. My roommate still gets completely wasted sometimes for "fun", and I just don't see the benefit especially since we are old enough to have real jobs. I think I'm in a place in my life where I am ready to move on from college, and I'm excited to see what the future has in store.

I hope this post doesn't seem like a bunch of whining to you all, but I just wanted to share where my head is at currently. :) Hopefully you all understand where I am coming from - let me know if you experienced the same thing during your senior year of college!  Comment below and don't forget to follow The Chic Cupcake to never miss a post!

  1. I'm in my sophomore year at a community college, and I'm still living at home as it's more affordable. I've never been into the party scene and neither are my friends, so I've yet to experience or witness the "college experience". Keep pushing!! You're so close to the end, and you've put in a lot of work to get here.

  2. I remember being in school and wishing my Senior Year away. I was so desperate to grow up and adult that I didn't realise I have the rest of my life to adult. I wish I spent more time being in the moment of my Senior Year and soaking up the experience it offered. Good luck with your remaining time at college though! It will be over in the blink of an eye!!
