My Experience: How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying

Hey cupcakes! I recently saw a production of the musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, so I thought it would be fun to make a post about it and letting you know what I thought about it! :) Let's get started!

So first off, I LOVE musicals, Broadway musicals, plays, etc. I had never seen How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, but I had heard a lot about it because Daniel Radcliffe and Nick Jonas both starred in this musical on Broadway. Going into the performance, I knew nothing about the plot, the songs, or anything.

My Thoughts

I loved this musical! The plot follows a window washer as he tries to climb the ladder in a large corporation, and I found the conflicts super relatable since I am a Business major in college. :P

Even if you know nothing about business, the musical is HILARIOUS and you will be laughing the whole time!!!! :) There are some fabulous characters (my personal favs include Bud Frump and J. B. Biggly), and I really recommend seeing this show!
It's Bud Frump! :O
The songs are also really great (and catchy!). My two favs you can listen to here:
1. Brotherhood of Man
2. Grand Old Ivy

The only negative to this musical was that it is pretty sexist at times, but it is a satire so it is meant to be that way (and honestly it brings some good points about women in business!).

Overall, I give this musical a 10/10 and would really recommend to a friend! :D

10 International Traveling Tips and Tricks :)

Hey cupcakes! When you are reading this, I will be half way across the world in a foreign country (guess which one in the comments and I'll do some posts about it when I get home)! :D Don't worry, I have scheduled posts to automatically publish so you won't even know I am gone. <3 Because I'm really excited to be traveling again, I decided to compile a list of my favorite (and most used) travel tips! Let's get started!

1. If you will be going into a new time zone, get a flight that is overnight so that you can sleep on the plane. Trust me, this helps your body adjust faster!

2. Plan out a schedule BEFORE you leave!!! This allows you to fit as much stuff as possible (or as much as you want!) into your trip :) Plus, it is wayyyy easier to plan things/purchase tickets in advance than trying to figure things out in a new place.

3. Do research! This will help you with your schedule and also to get used to the different cultures you might encounter during your trip :) I suggest online articles and travel books!

4. Make sure to pack clothes acceptable in the country you will be visiting! Also, knowing the weather is good too ;)

5. Pack LIGHT! Challenge yourself to bring only a purse and small suitcase! You can do it :P It will be way easier when you are there!!!!!

6. Look for places to stay other than hotels - rent an apartment, do Airbnb, etc. You'd be surprised at how similar the prices can be!

7. Don't wear makeup on the plane. Seriously, you don't need to break out the first day overseas!

8. Stay positive!!! This might sound silly, but traveling makes you tired, etc. so try your very hardest to be happy and positive so that you can make the most of your trip!!!!

9. Take advantage of public transportation at your destination! Buses, trains, subways, etc. are going to be pretty cheap and awesome to explore more! :)
10. Before you go, learn basic phrases (if the country's main language isn't English). You will usually be able to get by with English in most popular travel destinations, but knowing a few phrases is always good!

Review: Neoprene Bikini ft. Imilan Dupe

Hey cupcakes! Summer is finally here, which means many people buy new swimsuits for the warm months up ahead. A few months ago, I was searching through Amazon trying to figure out something to buy with some gift card money I had... I ended up finding a bikini that looked like the popular Neoprene bikinis that are pretty much EVERYWHERE..... For example:
This comes from the Triangl brand
This comes from Rue21 and is a fake Neoprene fabric
As well as these two examples, brands like Victoria Secret have these same style bikinis and they just seem to be everywhere I look in the mall. So, after finding a Neoprene bikini dupe on Amazon, I just had to buy it!
Link: HERE

The bikini I purchased is from the brand Imilan and is made of actual Neoprene material. There were over ten different colors to choose from, but I decided to buy the Rose Red one:
The swimsuit itself was only $11.48 and with shipping and tax, the total was $16.96. I thought that this was a decent price (if the swimsuit was actually Neoprene!), so I waited until my package arrived.

My Thoughts

I personally think this bikini is great! The fabric definently feels like Neoprene, and it is actually high quality for being so cheap! The color is exactly like the one in the picture, and the sizing ran true to what the size chart said (I ordered a small and it fits perfectly!). The shipping did not take long at all (maybe about one to two weeks), and I really love the swimsuit! The straps are removeable and the back clasp seems really sturdy.

The only thing I don't really like about this prodcut is that there is a little too much padding in the bikini top. But, the padding is removable, so I can just take it out! :)

Overall, I would recommend purchasing this bikini for the summer months! It is a cheaper version of the much more expensive trendy Neoprene swimsuit, so I would give it a shot! I think it is a great fashion dupe! :D

Have you ever tried a Neoprene swimsuit? Comment below your thoughts and don't forget to follow! :D <3

My Easy Summer Makeup Routine

Hey cupcakes! I feel like I haven't done a makeup post in a long time, so I thought I would talk about my quick makeup routine that is perfect for the summer months! Let's get started!

It can get super hot during the summer, so I prefer skipping foundation and only wearing BB cream and powder (or just powder!). For your face you only need three quick steps:
1. Concealer - Cover up any zits, undereye circles, etc.
Concealer palettes are my fav!
2. BB cream - You can totally skip this step if you want, but it will give you a flawless finish!
3. Powder - Powder will prevent any oil from building up on your face, so it is an essential for the summer!

I love to put a lot of emphasis on my eyes during the summer because you can experiment with some creative and colorful looks during the warmer months.
1. Eyeliner - I suggest waterproof if you will be near any water!
2. Mascara - Again, I recommend waterproof!
3. Colorful eyeshadow - If you aren't that skilled with blending or matching colors together, I recommend a custom palette where the colors are already matched! :) Go bold with colors during the summer!!!!!! I personally love to rock blues and greens!
1. Lip balm -The sun is drying to skin and lips, so make sure to use lip balm!
2. Lip stain - Lip stains are great for summer because the color will stay on your lips for the whole day and night! :)
I would stick to the light and bright colors! Avoid dark reds and other dark colors :)
After these steps, I leave everything else alone! I don't really do anything to my eyebrows during the hot months or do any contouring/blush/highlight. I think it is nice to let my face breath and focus most of the makeup on my eyes :)

What makeup do you wear during the summer months? Comment below and don't forget to follow! :) <3

Movie Review: Captain America Civil War

Release date: May 6, 2016

Rating: PG-13
Hey cupcakes! I was recently dragged to see the latest Marvel movie by some of my friends, so I thought I would do a review for Captain America: Civil War! I thought my review would be best to be split up into those who are into superhero movies and those who aren't....

My Opinion (I don't really watch superhero movies): I thought this movie had a lot of great action and fight scenes, but I was confused as to what was going on because I had no clue who a lot of the characters were (since I don't watch superhero films haha). I suggest watching all the previous films first to get an understanding of what is happening - lol. I guess the movie itself was okay, but it wasn't the best action packed movie I have seen. Also, it was quite long (around 2 and a half hours). It just felt like I was in the movie theater for wayyy too long! :P

My Friends' Opinions (aka those who actually watch superhero movies): My friends loved this movie! They, unlike me, knew all the characters, what the comic book plot was, etc. They said it was really well done (which makes sense since it got a 92% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes) and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Overall, if you aren't really into superhero movies, I would suggest maybe skipping this movie. But, if you love a good action/superhero film, you are sure to love it! :D

My Experience: Freshman Year of College!

Hey cupcakes! :) My Freshman year of college is OVER! :'( I can't believe I have already completed one whole year of college! It went by so fast!
I haven't done a "My Experience" post in quite some time, so I thought I would write about my experience as a Freshman for all of my followers who are about to go off to college! :D I hope you enjoy!

Throughtout my Freshman year, I have learned many things from the good (and unfortunately bad) experiences I have had...

1. College is way harder than high school - If you actually want to get a high GPA (or plan on applying to grad school, etc.), you will need to work hard and put in the time! It isn't impossible but sometimes you might have to miss some social activities to do well on an important test.

2. The key to adjusting to college is: BALANCE - With school work, a job, social activities, and extracurriculars, you need to find the perfect balance that allows you to succeed in all the aspects of your college life. In my experience, I recommend starting off the year in only one extracurricular and then after you succeed in balancing school, friends, etc. you can join more if you have time/want to! :) It is way more rewarding to be super involved in one student organization than barely participating in 4 or 5!

3. There will always be people who work way less hard but do amazing - This is obnoxious as heck but learning to just accept this will allow you to focus on your own work and succeed yourself. :)

4. People are annoying - College is college. There will be annoying roommates, loud people partying until the wee hours of the morning, and jerky professors. BUT, learning to just cope with these types of people will ease some stress and allow you to be more positive in your college experience.

5. Stress is REAL - College is honestly the most stressed I've ever felt. If you are an overachiever like me, you will start the year by putting wayyyy too much pressure on yourself. As the year went on, I realized that an exam is just an exam, an A- is not the end of the world, etc. Learning to put less pressure and stress on yourself is a must in college if you want a healthy body and mind! <3

6. The Freshman 15 is a thing but doesn't HAVE to be! - I gained no weight this year because I kept eating exactly like I did in high school. If you pig out all the time and drink a lot, then yes, the Freshman 15 is a real thing. BUT, it can be avoided!!!!

7. You will be peer pressured - Whether this be for drinking, sex, drugs, etc. you need to just stick with your beliefs. There will be people just like you, don't worry! Finding friends that have similar morals than you can create friendships that will last for forever. :D

Perfect response ;)
8. Finals week is honestly not that bad - Midterms week is rough because you have to study AND go to class. BUT, finals week you only have to study because classes are over! This gives you a TON of time to study, so there is plenty of time for stress relieving activities and fun things to do before you head home :)

9. Moving in/out is the WORST (so try to underpack!!) - Sweating and moving in/out all your crap is honestly the worst part of college (to me at least)- lol. I suggest leaving half of your clothes at home and bringing only the essentials of everything. Trust me, next year I will be bringing probably a third of what I brought this time!

10. You will learn to be an adult - Honestly, it is scary that first week when you are in a whole new place all by yourself. But, you mature really fast in college! You will learn how to survive on your own, and it gives you confidence for your years after graduation.

11. Your family is EVERYTHING - After going to college you realize just how important family is. Make sure you call them and go home for a few weekends because they will miss you a lot! Not only is college a huge adjustment for you, it is a huge adjustment for your family as well <3

12. It is OKAY to not know what you want to do for your major/career - Trust me, your first year of college is a great way to explore interests you have! I have taken some pretty awesome classes in topics I would have normally never even thought about! :)

13. College WILL be the best years of your life - Everyone always told me this, and after one year, I can say that they are right. College is amazing. The bad days, the good memories, the classes, the late night study sessions, everything is just perfect! I wouldn't change it for the world <3
Tom Felton agrees :P
What did you experience during your Freshman year of college? Let me know in the comments and don't forget to follow! :D <3
