Hey cupcakes! A couple of months ago I went to see Coco with my boyfriend, and the movie review post just fit into my blogging schedule now (lol - thanks Blogmas!). :) I feel like this movie was so hyped up; I saw so many advertisements for it and wasn't sure if it would live up to my expectations. First of all, the theater I went to didn't show the Olaf short that everyone was complaining about, so I guess that is a good thing. Second, I thought this movie was AMAZING! Disney's animations are getting so so good over time, and scenes from this movie just blew my mind at how detailed the people at Pixar are.

Just look at the Land of the Dead! :O
Third, the plot of this movie is honestly great! It isn't the same old same old Disney normally creates, and I thought it was even a bit edgy tacking themes like murder, death, family conflicts, etc. Fourth, the characters are awesome! Totally relatable and well developed :)

Even as skeletons the characters are so perfect!

Lastly, the music is so great! I love how they tacked a different musical genre than normal, and "Remember Me" is totally a bop (even though it has been overdone haha). Overall, I really enjoyed this movie (and so did my boyfriend) and would definitely recommend you see it when it comes out on DVD soon. :)

Tips & Tricks for Having the BEST LinkedIn Profile!

Hey cupcakes! LinkedIn is something that most college students hear about a lot, so I thought it would be beneficial to make a post about my top tricks to having the best LinkedIn profile possible! :) I have been to my fair share of LinkedIn info sessions, and I recently had to do a lot of database work on LinkedIn at my current job. I hope this post helps you all out!

Image result for linkedin

1. Use a good headshot for your photo - With your profile you want to make a great first impression on your potential employer, so make sure your photo is actually good! Don't have any close ups (make sure it is a professional headshot!), and please make sure to smile so it doesn't look like a mugshot. :)

2. Make your profile as easy as possible to read - Don't use all four of your middle names, make sure to use the simplest language when typing out your job titles, and correctly spell all the companies you have worked for. This will ensure that you actually turn up in searches made by recruiters, which is the whole reason you are on LinkedIn in the first place!

3. Don't just put everything on your resume on LinkedIn - Resumes have lots of bullet point descriptions of what you do, but LinkedIn should have concise paragraphs describing your job. Don't just copy and paste your resume because a recruiter will then have to read it twice!

4. Get friends to endorse your skills (but make sure you actually have them!) - Adding skills on LinkedIn can be scary, but it is totally fine if you only have a few major ones. Have your close friends endorse them to buff up your profile.

5. Add staff photos if you have them - You can add photos under each job in your experience section, and I think it looks really great to have a professional photo of you and your employers (if you have one)! It allows a recruiter to get a sense of the people you have worked with.

6. Make sure to spell check! - I feel like this should be a no-brainer, but I have seen so many spelling mistakes (and even capitalization problems). Make sure you show that you are educated!

7. Connect with as many people as possible - Even if that one guy you met who worked at Starbucks doesn't seem that useful to you, in the future connections are everything so try to build up your numbers!

How To Style: Pastel Pink

Hey cupcakes! Valentine's Day is almost here, which means it is time to start busting out your reds and pinks! ;) I personally love to wear pink in the beginning of February, so I wanted to create a lookbook today of some ways to style pastel pinks. Enjoy!

Outfit #1 - I find the easiest way to wear pastel pink is in a cozy sweater! It is so easy to pair with jeans, cute booties, and an adorable beanie for a quick yet cute look.

Outfit #2 - This outfit is my fav! If you have a pastel pink shirt, throw on a jean or leather jacket, some leggings, and cute shoes for a classic outfit that is still totally chic!

Outfit #3 - If you want to rock pastel pink out on a date night (or other fancy occasion), I suggest finding a pastel pink dress! Pair it with a faux fur jacket, heels, cute jewelry, and you are all set to have a killer night! :D

What's On My Fashion Wishlist ft. Yoins.com

Hey cupcakes! I hope you enjoyed my last post, where I shared with you all my current beauty wishlist. I wanted to stick with that type of post today... So I hope you enjoy what is currently on my fashion wishlist (featuring the awesome cute clothes from Yoins.com). Yoins has clothing that is super trendy but is priced at such fair prices, so it is definitely a website you all should check out! :)

1. Burgundy floral dress ($19.95)

Burgundy Random Floral Print Crossed Collar Bell Sleeves Dress with Zip Design

I think this dress is so cute! The darker color makes it perfect for the winter time, and you can get it in 4 other colors. I have always loved floral dresses (I am pretty sure about 95% of all the dress I own are floral print), so this is definitely on my wishlist!

2. Boybye Crop Top ($9.95)

Yellow Letter Print Crew Neck Top

Yoins always has such a great selection of crop tops (check out all women's crop tops here!), which is amazing because sometimes at stores like Forever21 you can only find cheapy "party" crop tops. Even though the weather is cold, I like to pair cropped shirts with an oversized cardigan and some leggings, and I think this graphic shirt is perfect for that!

3. Long Sleeve Shirt ($17.95)

Dark Grey Crossed Front Design Plain Round Neck Long Sleeves T-shirts

Sometimes my classrooms are super warm, so I don't necessarily want to put on a thick sweater. So, I love to wear long sleeve shirts (with an added scarf sometimes)! This shirt is so plain and simple, which is just how I like it (plus, there are 7 more colors to choose from!).

4. High Waisted Jeans ($23.95)

Dark Blue Without Front Pockets Basic Bodycon Jeans

For only $24 how can you go wrong with these jeans??? As most of you all probably know, I have always preferred skinny jeans/pants over leggings (lol even though right now I am wearing leggings oops). These pants would be perfect to style with the Boybye crop top, an oversized sweater, etc!

5. Lace Bralette ($7.95)

Black V-neck Lace Bra with Choker

I feel like I have been really late to the whole bralette craze, but my collection has slowly been growing over time. Yoins has a HUGE selection of bras, bralettes, and even lingerie sets (check out all hot sexy lingerie for women here!), which is awesome because you can buy a bunch of everything from the same place. I think this bralette is gorgeous!

What You Need:
-Tulip Puffy Paint (I have only ever used this brand for this, but you could try others too!)

-Some sort of template on paper (optional if you want to free hand)
-Large Ziploc bag

What To Do:
1. Figure out what window cling you want to make. Print out this template onto computer paper.

2. Open the Ziploc bag and place the template inside. Zip shut.

3. Using the puffy paint, trace the template (or free hand your design if you want!).

4. Allow the paint to dry for the full amount. I personally would wait even longer just to be safe!!

7 Easy Ways to Reduce Your Waste!

Hey cupcakes! Today I will be writing a post that is a little different for The Chic Cupcake. However, I think it is super important, so I hope you all learn something! Sustainability is very critical to keeping our planet, and I have learned a lot about it in college. I wanted to share some of my favorite ways to reduce waste, so let's get started!

1. Use reusable shopping bags - This is honestly super easy! Instead of getting those plastic bags that are bad for the environment, purchase a couple high quality reusable totes to use instead.

Image result for reusable grocery bags

2. Reuse jars for storage - This is something I will definitely be doing in my apartment over the summer; all you need to do is save any jars that you eat the food out of (like pasta sauce, pickles, etc.) and reuse them as storage. You can even bring them to your grocery store that sells bulk food to purchase healthy ingredients without using any plastic!

3. Start composting - It isn't as hard as you would think, and it makes you feel really good about being sustainable! :)

4. Make the conscious effort to recycle everything possible - I know a lot of states still don't have recycling centers (which is honestly terrible), but if you have recycling where you live try to recycle as much as you can! I am an avid recycler and there are still things that I never knew you could recycle. Recycle as much as possible!

5. Don't use plastic straws - When you order at a restaurant, ask the waiter to not put a plastic straw in your drink. :) (Psstt your drink will still taste the same!)

Image result for drink without straw

6. USE A WATER BOTTLE - I honestly get so angry at people who still use plastic water bottles every day instead of just buying a water bottle and refilling it. First of all, it is cheaper to just buy the one water bottle and secondly, everyone knows how bad plastic water bottles are for the planet!! This is the easiest thing for you to do to be sustainable, so I totally recommend!

7. Find sustainable alternatives to textbooks - College in general creates a lot of paper waste from notes to worksheets to loose leaf textbooks. Try to be as sustainable as possible by finding an online version of your textbooks (or at least make sure to recycle all of your paper at the end of the semester)!

What are your tips and tricks for being more sustainable? Comment down below your suggestions and don't forget to follow The Chic Cupcake! :D

P.S. Every little bit counts in saving the planet, so I challenge YOU to do your share! <3

Movie Review: Star Wars The Last Jedi

Release date: December 15th, 2017

Rating: PG-13

Image result for star wars the last jedi

When I was home over break, I (of course!) had to see the newest Star Wars film. :) I really enjoyed The Force Awakens (read that review here), so I had big expectations for this movie. I thought it was awesome!!!!! Unlike The Force Awakens where a lot of the plot points seemed similar to the original trilogy, this movie brought in a new plot that really keeps you on your toes throughout the film. I honestly could not have guessed what was about to happen during half the movie, and I thought it was well executed for the high stakes of the movie.

I have been a Kylo Ren fan since The Force Awakens (and the hilarious SNL Starkiller Base skit), but this movie made me love Kylo Ren's character even more.

I would fight people with Kylo Ren any day! ;)

The only part of the movie that I did not like (SPOILERS AHEAD) was the scene where General Leia saves herself with the force. Not going to lie, it was pretty bad. It would have been way better if she had been hanging off the ship or something (because floating in space that long just wouldn't work people!). BUT, the rest of the movie really does make up for this two minute scene, so I have no complaints. There were tons of action scenes, plently of fighting/ship battles, and (of course) there was some great humor :)

I cannot wait to see what happens in the next episode, and I definitely recommend seeing this movie even if you aren't a huge Star Wars fan (because you will still like it)! What did you think about The Last Jedi? Comment below and don't forget to follow The Chic Cupcake to never miss a post!

How to Style: Joggers

Hey cupcakes! I have been seeing so many people in joggers recently, and I think they are super cute! I personally would love to buy them because I think leggings are too tight... These are perfect for when I don't want to wear jeans! :) I made a lookbook today with three different ways to style leggings:

Outfit 1 - Joggers don't have to only be casual! I think they look super cute with a nice sweater and ankle boots, which is definitely in style when the weather is cold!

Outfit 2 - This is probably my favorite look; pair your joggers with a crop top, oversized cardigan, and killer combat boots for an outfit that is totally chic.

Outfit 3 - If you want to go the casual route, all you need to do is throw on your joggers and a crew new sweatshirt for an effortless look. :)
