Recipe: The BEST Vanilla Cake & Chocolate Frosting

Hey cupcakes! My dad's birthday was a couple of weeks ago, and I thought it would be fun to bake him a cake from scratch. I have always thought that homemade cakes taste better than the stuff from boxes, and it makes me happy to know that it has no preservatives or other crap in it. Also, THIS CAKE WAS THE MOST DELICIOUS CAKE EVER. Like EVER. I just had to share the recipe for both the vanilla cake and homemade chocolate frosting with you all :)

Vanilla Cake

What You Need:
-1/2 cup butter
-1 1/2 cups sugar
-1 tsp vanilla extract
-2 cups flour
-1 tbsp baking powder
-3 eggs

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease cake pans (with butter and flour or PAM). Set aside.
2. Beat together butter and sugar in a stand mixer (or with a hand mixer) until light and fluffy.
3. Add vanilla extract and eggs one at a time until they are fully incorporated.
4. Mix in baking powder. Slowly add the flour, beating until mixed.
5. Add milk and mix until there are no lumps left.
6. Add batter to pans and bake for 35-40 minutes (or until a toothpick comes out clean).
