Movie Review: Wild Child

Release date: August 15th, 2008

Rating: PG-13

Hey cupcakes! My boyfriend and I were scrolling through Netflix the other day when we came across this film. It looked like a chick flick from the good old 2000s that neither of us had seen before, so we thought we would give it a go. I think it was a pretty good movie for this genre, so I figured I would share my thoughts with you all today! :)

First, Emma Roberts is such a great cliche "wild child". I have always been a fan of her acting (because face it, she has been in sooo many films!), and I think this character really allowed her to shine. The other actors also played their characters well, and the male lead (Alex Pettyfer) was super cute which made the sappy plot even better.

I also thought this movie was hilarious! Even my boyfriend cracked up at times, which is rare during a chick flick. Throughout the film he complained about it being "2000s cringy", but he refused to let me turn it off because the plot was actually a bit complex/interesting. It wasn't just your typical love story, which I appreciated. Also, the setting of a boarding school in England gave it Hogwarts vibes for sure (plus it definitely reminded me of my Catholic school days). :P

Overall, I would definitely recommend watching this movie if you are looking for some nostalgia and/or needing a good chick flick. :D
